A BIT ABOUT EMILY...

Emily is an award winning singer and arranger specialising in a cappella and barbershop. She has competed in barbershop competitions across multiple organisations (BHS, BHA and SAI) in both quartets and choruses, and as a coach, Emily has worked with over 50 ensembles across Australia. Emily is a Certified Director (DCP) and Approved Arranger (ACP) with Sweet Adelines International and is a graduate of the Southern Cross Regional Arrangers Program (SCRAP) and Music Leaders Program (MLP). She was on faculty for BHA Harmony Academy (2024 and 2025) and Eastern Region Harmony College (2024).

Emily currently sings with Mixed Signals Quartet (BHA National Open Quartet Champions 2023 and 2025), Cabbaggio Quartet (BHA Victorian Region Open Quartet Champions 2025), and Laneway City Singers (BHA Victorian Region Open Chorus Champions and BHA National Open Chorus Silver Medallists 2025).  She has held the roles of Assistant Director and Baritone Section Leader with Geelong Harmony Chorus and previously sang with Three Docs & A Diva Quartet (Comedy Quartet), for whom she was script writer and arranger, and Cadence Quartet (BHA Victorian Region Gold Medallists).

Outside of barbershop, Emily has a varied music education and performing background.  She has completed Estill Voice Training Foundations and Levels 1 & 2, AMEB examinations in Theory of Music (5th Grade), Voice (6th Grade) and Flute (8th Grade), and acting training including improvisational theatre, Commedia dell'arte and Bouffon acting techniques. She has been in 15 amateur theatre productions and two Melbourne Fringe Festival shows (Titus Andronicus and Alice: Nightmares in Wonderland). She has previously performed with The International Doctors Choir, The Geelong Chorale, Gloriana Chamber Choir, St Peters Eastern Hill Choir, Australian Music Events (Opera In The Market and Opera In The Alps), Gondwana Voices and Young Voices of Melbourne, and received choral scholarships with Opera Scholars Australia and St Peters Eastern Hill Choir. At present, Emily is a deputy for The Velvetones, Vocal Jazz Quartet, and is learning to play the drums.
